Account Coordinator

Overview

Working as part of the account teams, the Account Coordinator is responsible for honing knowledge and experience in tools, relationship building, writing and account logistics to contribute to client and agency business success.

With a degree or post-grad certificate in PR, journalism or communications, coupled with 1+ years agency or corporate experience, the Account Coordinator will mentor interns on agency systems and PR fundamentals and perform admin duties, as required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Uses and applies agency research tools (i.e. Meltwater, Klear and others) to perform research and market analysis for current clients and potential new business
  • Produces detailed research reports for accounts and new business opportunities
  • Follows and tracks the news as it relates to clients, agency and society
  • Creates well-thought out, accurate media lists
  • Successfully pitches mainstream and social media contacts, based on campaign goals
  • Develops new, positive media and influencer relationships
  • Communicates net-new agency, media and influencer relationships with agency peers
  • Demonstrates ability to successfully negotiate/work with external vendors
  • Participates in internal ideation sessions for existing and new business opportunities
  • Proactively and positively contributes to creative idea generation for accounts
  • Writes pitches and written business communications
  • Shows progress in language and thoughtfulness in all written business communication
  • Confidently presents in team/agency meetings on account news and progress
  • Contributes to agency brand building initiatives (i.e. ideas/content for SO social, website and SOAR committee)
  • Supports teams during project execution
  • Works with accounting/account team to successfully manage invoices and expense trackers
  • Performs administrative duties when required, supporting the in-house production team
  • Confidently utilizes measurement and reporting tools to build comprehensive client reports
  • Gains experience in communicating with clients first-hand
  • Applies understanding of reporting success, MRP, KIPs and social industry standards.

Qualifications

Education/Work Experience

  • Communications, public relations, journalism, or equivalent certificate/certification/degree
  • 1+ years agency, corporate or relevant experience
  • Strong command and understanding of written English language
  • Driver’s License

Digital Applications Knowledge

  • Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Social media channels and functionality (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, LinkedIn)
  • Strong command and understanding of written and verbal English language
